The Forests of the Pacific North West. Last Updated: May 6 2009 This region of North America is unique in the diversity of trees that it grows. The conifers grow very large and produce excellent timbers. Species available include Douglas Fir, Pine, Hemlock, Cedars, Spruce and some Hardwood species. A very small amount of this fine wood is used for Architectural purposes. We feel that buying select logs which were not logged for our purpose is a way of preserving this natural resource. Tree’s do die of old age or are more susceptible to disease in the old growth stage. Much of the tree’s harvested are infected by bugs or viruses and would rot on the ground eventually. You should not feel guilty about celebrating and preserving this natural beauty in your home. |

The Building Process
Manufacturing Last Updated: May 6 2009 We have turned a closed down elementary school we purchased in 2002 into a dream shop. The well lit and ventilated classrooms are superb work stations for our joiners. We use the existing black boards for hanging shop drawings and writing or sketching on. We use the best German, American, and Japanese tools we can buy to cut and notch the timbers. The gymnasium floor provides a perfectly flat surface to pre assemble our frame and to ensure good fits on site. We have more than adequate space to properly stain and dry timbers. The final product is carefully packaged and protected from the weather until it is loaded on a truck that will be tarpped prior to leaving our yard. Our investment shows our commitment to sustaining a high level of quality and service for many years into the future. |
