Dear Wayne & Debbie:

How fast the years have gone by; we now have had the enjoyment of our timber frame home for ten years.

Although, we have chatted over the years, I thought I would take the time and drop you a note and express to you the joy that we have had in our home on Shuswap Lake.

Over the years, Annie and I have hosted many family members and friends and have had many conversations about how our home was constructed. All agree, IT IS ONE OF A KIND. The workmanship has stood the test of time.

I reflect back when I would visit your work shop and watch how our home was crafted and the excitement I felt on the big day when we raised the timbers, (Annie said it is the closest that a man can come to giving birth)

We also have over the years enjoyed showing our home to your clients, and feel the excitement that they have in looking forward to having you build their timber frame home.

Wayne, Annie and I want to pass on again how pleased we are with our home. As Annie has said many times when we open the door and enter our home, it feels like the timbers wrap their arms around us and gives us a warm welcome.

I know that over the last 10 years you have been very busy with your Timber Frame Co., but if you find the time when you are down our way, we would love to see you and your family.

Northern Timberworks came up with a design and proposal to Build 292 feet by 32 feet of connected horse barns for the Prince George Horse Society’s four new Millennium Barns at Exhibition Park. Their use of long heavy timbers joined together to make a rigid framework saved us thousands of dollars in foundation costs. These barns are a significant improvement over the pole barns they replaced. We are very proud of our new barns and visitors to the area are very impressed with our first class facility.

When we came to Canada we were shocked by the low standards of construction. We looked at other post and beam builders but were not happy with their machine cut timbers and hardware used for attaching them together. We visited the Cripps’ home and shop and knew he could build our home. Wayne worked with us to develop a plan that would reflect our German heritage, and suit our lifestyle. He then designed the timber frame to add strength and beauty to our home. Wayne expertly replicated joinery, which we showed him in books of Bavarian homes. Our home looks like it is from another time and another place. We are very proud of our home and it gives us great pleasure every day.
